Use a paper plate to trace a front and back of the head on red paper.Staple and stuff this to make a flat round pillow like head. Next use the large end of small paper cups to trace three white eyes. Then draw a black dot in the middle of each round white eye.Glue the eyes to the top half of the head. Place two eyes side by side with one eye above them. Next glue a black rectangle under the eyes for a mouth. In the mouth glue yellow triangles for teeth. Twist black paper to form horns about 8 inches long and staple them to the top of his head.

Make the body out of red butcher paper. Make the front and back shaped like a rectangle the same size as the top of a students desk. Staple all around the edges and stuff it to form a rectangular pillow. Staple the head to the body at the top of the rectangle. The rectangle should be positioned so that the body is long not wide.Use the cups to trace and cut out three yellow and white circles. Spreadand glue them evenly over the front of the body .

Cut 6 strips of black butcher paper about 2 inches wide and 2ft long for arms. Trace circles from the large end of a small paper cup onto blue paper. Staple one blue circle to the end of each arm. Staple three arms to each side of the body. Cut three black legs two inches wide and about 4 feet long. Staple them to the bottom of the monster. Good Luck!

How to make our monster …

Body

Wrap a large shoebox with green butcher paper. To make the buttons, trace a new roll of Scotch tape on red, purple, light blue, and brown construction paper. Glue the buttons down the middle of the large shoebox in a straight line. The top button is red, the second button is purple, the third button is light blue, and the last button is brown.

Take a piece of white construction paper and cut a “pocket” shape that is about 4 inches tall. Draw an orange happy face with lines for the eyes and nose on the pocket. Glue this pocket to the bottom left side of the front of the body. Make another pocket the same size on green construction paper. Draw a blue sad face on this pocket and glue it to the bottom right side of the front of the body.

Arms

Cut a rectangle that is 3 inches wide by 18 inches long out of purple construction paper. Next, accordion-fold the rectangle and glue to the monster’s body on the right side towards the top. For the other arm, use a piece of orange construction paper and repeat the same steps, but this time glue on the left side towards the top of the body.

Trace your teacher’s left and right hand on white construction paper. Cut out the hands and glue them to the correct arms. On the left hand, color the finger nails purple.

Legs

Cut two rectangles that are 3 inches wide by 18 inches long out of blue construction paper. Accordion-fold the rectangles. Glue one end of a strip to the bottom of the body, close to the edge, on the right side. Glue the other strip to the bottom of the first strip. For the other leg, use two pieces of red construction paper and repeat the same steps, but this time glue on the left side of the body.

Trace your teacher’s left and right foot (with a sock on) on black construction paper. Cut out the feet and glue them to the correct leg. On the left foot, color the toenails white.

Head

Wrap a small shoebox with brown butcher paper.

Eyes: Trace the top of a soda can on pink construction paper and red construction paper. Cut the circles out. Draw a black eye ball looking down on the red circle and a purple eyeball looking up on the pink circle. Glue the circles about 1 inch below the very top of the face.

Nose: Draw a triangle (about 2 inches) on each side on a piece of light blue construction paper. Cut the triangle out. Glue the nose in the center of the face about 2 inches below the eyes. Draw two small circles towards the bottom of the nose.

Mouth: Glue a piece of dark blue string about 3 inches below the nose. The string should go from the left side of the face, all the way to the right side in a straight line.

Ears: Blow up a green balloon and glue it to the right side of the head. Glue a deflated pink balloon to the left side of the head.

Hair: Cut 10 pieces of yellow yarn. The pieces should go from the bottom of the left side of the head to the bottom of the right side of the head. Cut 10 pieces of red yarn and 10 pieces of orange yarn all the same length as the pieces of yellow yarn. Spread glue all over the top of the head and then spread the pieces of yarn over the top of the head. Glue the Head to the cent of the body.
