Hello Ms. Dewberry's Class!

We are so excited to do the Monster Match with you. I am posting the information from our class (with some minor spelling corrections), but all of the directions were written by the students. To make it easier for you, we have split it up into body parts. Enjoy, and we can't wait to see your monster!!!!!!!!!!!

-Mrs. Bramanti

P.S. MS. DEWBERRY, I HAD TO USE HOT GLUE ON A LOT OF THESE...HOPEFULLY YOU HAVE A HOT GLUE GUN. THE REGULAR WHITE GLUE/GLUE STICKS/ETC. REALLY WOULD NOT HOLD IT TOGETHER. :( Also, like I said, I had to fix the spelling on a lot of the instructions. Hopefully you can figure it out okay...we had to do a few drafts before they made sense!

How to Make a Vampire Dog

By: Mrs. Bramanti's Third Grade Class

Head Materials:

2 balloons

black butcher paper (a lot)

black construction paper

glue

green construction paper

black yarn

red construction paper

3 paper plates

1 plastic cup

1. Blow up balloons.

2. Put paper over a balloon. Like a bag. Glue shut.

3. Cut out a red mouth. Cut one paper plate to make pointy teeth. Glue them on.

4. Cut 2 green triangles for eyes. Glue yarn in the middle for eyeballs.

5. Glue mouth and eyes on head.

6. Use glue and put it all over the plastic cup, and then put black paper on the glue. And yarn. You made your nose! Put it on the head.

7. Use glue and put it on paper plates. Make black ears with construction paper on top. Put ears on head.

8. Glue last balloon behind ears so they stand up. Don't put too much air in it.

Body Materials:

4 shoeboxes

black construction paper tons and tons

4 balloons

yarn

glue

1. Blow up all balloons. Put them in boxes. Tie boxes shut with yarn. The body needs to be pumped up.

2. Put black paper over the boxes with glue.

3. Glue boxes together. 2 on top, 2 on bottom.

4. You made a body.

5. Make sure you have good talks with head and tail and legs. We have to work with all of them.

Front Legs Materials:

12 plastic cups

black yarn

2 paper plates

orange and black construction paper

something sharp to make holes (Mrs. Bramanti had to help)

pencil

1. Make holes in the cups. Put a string in. Make them all together. 6 on one side. 6 on the other.

2. Tie string at top and bottom so cups don't fall off. That would be bad.

3. Glue to body on sides.

4. Making paws - to make it you glue black paper on a plate. Do it twice. Cut another plate to make claws.

5. Make 6 small orange circles and 2 bigger ones. Put on bottom to make bottom of paws. Tie them to the ends of the cups. Use lots of glue.

Back Legs Materials:

12 plastic cups

black yarn

2 paper plates

orange and yellow and white construction paper

something sharp for cups (again, Mrs. Bramanti helped out here)

pencil

1. Do the same as the other group. Only, our paws are better.

2. Paws. Take black paper. Put on the plates. Cut a yellow oval. Glue it on the top.

3. Put them on the legs.

4. Glue to body and you are done.

Tail Materials:

black yarn - more than a foot

newspaper

glue

1. Twist newspaper.

2. Do it five times.

3. Put yarn around newspaper to make it black like a tail.

4. Wrap it tight.

5. Twist 5 tails.

6. Give to Mrs. Bramanti to glue on back. Glue on top of one box and under the other.
