Our Freaky Scary Guy
We hope you enjoy creating our freaky, scary guy as much as we did. He looks quite mean in the face. Hopefully you are not scared.
Head:
Take two 9 inch paper plates and staple them rim to rim. Cover it with black paper using the present wrapping technique.
Hair:
Have each student cover two straws with green paper. We glued the straw at one edge and rolled it to the other edge. Some of the students twisted the paper to give it a kinky look. Now pile all the green hair pieces on the back side of the head making sure they hang over the top part of the covered plate. We used glue stick to stick the hairs to the covered plate then put clear book tape over the top to secure it a little better.
Face:
Cut out a large circle out of black paper. Glue it over the hairs that are attached to the covered plate. Now you should see green spiky hair sticking out of the black head.
Eyes:
Cut two orange ovals that are about 2 inches long. Glue them at a slight angle on the top half of the face. Cut two smaller circles out yellow paper and glue them in the middle of the two orange ovals. Add a black dot to the center of each yellow circle using marker.
Nose:
Cut out a green circle about 3 inches in diameter. Cut a line into the middle. Now create a cone shape. Fold in the edges, add glue and place it in the middle of the face below the eyes.
Eye brows:
Cut two ‘v’ shapes out of red paper. Glue them upside down above each eye.
Mouth:
Cut an oval shape out of white paper. Cut pointy teeth shape out in the middle of the oval. Now glue it under the nose.
Ears:
Cut two red triangles out of paper. They should be about three inches long on each side. Now glue one on each side of the face at nose level.
Body:
Wrap a 12 inch box or two tubs taped together with orange paper. Find a small red button to glue in the middle of the front side of body. This is the belly button.
Arms:
Roll a large piece of red bulletin board paper into a small cylinder shape. Glue the edge down. Cut it in half to create two arms about inches long. Use clear book tape to attach arms to body, one on each side.
Hands:
Stuff two clear science gloves with strips of blue paper. Now, staple one hand to each end of arm.
Legs:
Roll two pieces of 12X18 blue construction paper into cylinder shapes. Tape each to the under side of body so the monster looks like he is sitting down.
Feet:
Wrap two boxes of colored pencils with purple paper. Leave one end uncovered so you can slide the legs inside. Tape to attach legs to feet
Toes:
Using markers draw five triangle toes at the end of each foot.
Attaching Head to Body:
Wrap a small box with blue paper. Glue it on top of the body. This will be the support of the head. Using strong glue or clear book tape, attach the head to the blue box. When you are looking at the monster from the front you can not see the little blue box.
Have fun with your new classmate. We love looking at ours.

Monster description goes here
Our Monster’s name is Mr. Scary. He is a lot of different shapes and colors. He has two heads, two eyes, ten teeth, two horns, ten claws, two arms, and four legs, hair, and a body.
Heads
One of the monster’s heads is a round green balloon. It is medium size. In the middle of the green balloon is one large red and black eyeball. We used markers to draw the eyeball. Under the eyeball are the monster’s five small pointy teeth. We cut the teeth out of a Styrofoam cup. They are baby triangles pointing down. The teeth were then colored various colors with markers. We used clear tape to stick the teeth to the balloon. The monster’s hair is made of yarn. We glued orange, red, green, blue, and maroon yarn on top of the balloon for hair. We cut a medium size triangle out of a red plastic cup and taped it to the top of the balloon with the hair. The point of the triangle is sticking up for a horn. The second head is a white round balloon. In the middle of the balloon is a rainbow colored eyeball.
Body
The body is made from green chart paper. Cut two ovals 29 inches long by 19 inches wide. Then draw small Halloween pictures all over one the ovals using markers. Lay the two ovals on top of each other and staple one side of the ovals together. Then stuff loose paper into the middle of the two ovals. Make sure that the pictures are facing the front of your monster. Then continue stapling around the outside of the monsters body while you are filling the inside with paper. Completely stapled all the way around the green paper.
Arms
Our monster has two arms made from black chart paper. They are each29 inches long. Cut the arms in a squiggly pattern. Wwwww There is a hand with five sharp claws at the end of each arm. The hands and claws are red. Each arm and hand has red glitter on it.
Legs
Mr. Scary has four legs that are made out of purple chart paper. Each leg is 30 inches long. The first leg has straight side and a foot that is the shape of a boot. The second leg is squiggly wwwww and it is cut straight across the bottom without a foot. The third leg has sharp points VVVVVV and the foot is in the shape of an oval. The fourth leg has straight side and is very skinny. It has a foot on the end of it with four toes. All four of the legs have pink glitter running down them.
Putting it all together
Lay the body down in the floor. Then use a stapler to staple the four legs in order from left to right (leg one, leg two , leg three, and leg four) at the bottom of the body hanging down. Then staple one arm to the side of the body sticking out and attach a hand with claws to the arm with glue. Then do the same thing on the other side of the body with the other arm and hand. Take a Popsicle stick and tape it to the back of the green balloon with half the stick sticking down. Then Tape the other half of the Popsicle stick to the back of the top of the body to hold the head on. The green head goes on the left. Do the same thing with the white head on the right side of the top of the body. The sticks will help hold the balloon head up straight. Now your monster is complete!
