Materials
4 large Styrofoam cups
Construction paper
3 bright yellow
1 red
3 green
1 black
1 hot pink
Butcher paper
2 pieces of purple-3 ft x 2 ft
1 Light blue -3ft x 2ft
2 orange-3ft x 2ft
This Monster stands about 3ft tall and about 14 inches wide.
Take 2 shoe boxes and tape them side by side, making a large rectangular box that is 12in x 15 in. Cover it with light blue butcher paper.
Cover two boxes with orange butcher paper.
Turn the boxes on their side and glue them together so that the blue is on top.
Starting at the bottom you should have orange, orange, blue.
The blue box will be the head.
Cut strips half way up (along the long side) the yellow paper about 1 inch apart making 10 strips (do this on each sheet)
The yellow paper will be used as hair – glue the part of the paper that’s not cut , across the top of the box, letting the strips that are cut hang down slightly in front. (curl the tip of each strip up with a pencil.) (we trimmed the bangs about an inch in the front)
Take the purple piece of butcher paper paper and gather it in the middle to make a large bow. Fold the pink piece of construction paper long ways and wrap in around the middle of the bow.
Glue the bow on the top left corner (if you’re looking at it) of the head
Eyes
Cut Styrofoam cup in half so that they’re only 3 inches tall
Take a strip of green paper 1inx 8in fold it like a fan making about 7 1in folds
Glue the tip in the inside, center of the cup so that it springs out
Glue the cups on the upper middle part of the box about 4 inch apart
Eye lashes
Cut 2 pieces of black paper 5in x 5in
Make ½ inch strips across the paper about half way up. Curl the tips then glue them above the Styrofoam cups.
Mouth
Fold red paper long ways, cut an m shape across the top (opposite the fold)
Put glue on the folded side about 1 inch wide across the length of the paper and glue it to the lower part of the blue box, so that it look like an open mouth.
Ears
Glue a Styrofoam cup on each side of the blue box, in the middle, open side facing out
Necklace
Make a chain link necklace using 21 strips of green paper (1inx8in)
Stick it to the back of the blue box so that it hangs around and down about an inch onto the orange box in the front
Skirt
Gather the purple butcher paper in the center like a bow then fold it in half. Glue it to the bottom of the middle box so that it hangs in front and covers the bottom box.
We used a hot glue gun instead of regular glue
Now you are finished, Meet Clarissa the Cheer monster!

M. Lancer (Shorty for short)
Hello, my name is M. Lancer. You can call me Shorty for short. I live in a place called Lancer Land. To pay my bills, I make tacos, but my favorite thing to do is to be Super Fan at home football games. For breakfast I love to eat taco-flavored oatmeal. I prefer a simple sandwich for lunch. Dinner is my favorite, as I love to devour avocados.
In my spare time, I play video games, go to the mall, bowl for children, and hang out with my monster friends in my 15-foot tree house.
Body
* First put 5 shoeboxes together with tape, 2 back-to-back and then 3 stacked onto that.
* Then put red construction paper on the outside of the shoeboxes.
* Next make 2 football jerseys to fit the body front and back, and make it short-sleeved.
* Next make the number 125.to put on the jersey.
* Then make a hole in the top box and make it so it fits the head part.
Head
* We got a large shoebox about 10X10 inches.
* We covered it with red construction paper.
* For eyes we used small paper cups. We cut the cup in half and used it for eyes. We colored blue dots inside the bottom of the cup.
* We glued the eyes with cement glue on the shoebox covered in red construction paper.
* For a nose we blew up a small balloon and taped it in the middle of the box with regular tape.
* For a mouth we used a red plastic cup, drew the shape of a mouth in closes red lips, cut it and glued it on the bottom of the shoebox.
* For hair we used a little bit of red and white yarn about the length of the box. We just used a little bit of yarn.
* We got lots of ribbon pieces the same size as the yarn and curled it with scissors.
* We used a lot of ribbon.
* Finally we taped all the yarn and ribbon with tape on the top of the shoebox.
Arms
* Blow up 4 balloons all different sizes - 2 red and 2 black
* Use rubber cement
* Glue them in order of biggest to smallest
* Use 4 balloons for each arm
* Use tape to attach to each side of the body like the moster is flexing
Legs
* Blow up 6 small balloons for toes (3 balloons on each foot)
* Get red yarn
* Poke holes in 3 styrofoam cups
* Poke holes in 3 plastic red cups
* Stick yarn through the cups in order like white, red, white, red, white, red
* On the last red cup stick 3 small balloons that are tied together
* Make the other leg the same way
* Punch 2 holes in the bottom of the body for attaching the legs
* For the skirt get small paper plates and cut red construction paper into circles for polka dots.
* Staple 10 paper plates together and glue polka dots at random
* Stick the skirt to the body
* The last 2 cups have to stick together for a foot
* Tie knots out of yarn on the top and inside each cup so they don't fall to the bottom
* Stick balloons inbetween every cup on the legs
* Curl red ribbon into long strips and attach to the bottom of the skirt so that they dangle down
* The right leg is about 57 inches and the left leg is about 53 inches
