Fifth Grade Monster
HEAD & FACE: The head is two balls of crumpled pink bulletin board paper. Each ball is 25-26” in circumference. The balls are glued together toward the bottoms of the balls so that it looks like the head is split in two. There are 3 pieces of 21 ½” pink yarn squiggled on top of the balls.
Eyes: Bottom of plastic 6oz. cup cut 1” deep . In the middle of each eye, with the bottom of the cup upward, place 1 ½ “circles of black for the pupil of the eye. Place three 2” pieces of pink yarn from pupil of each eye to look bloodshot. Then use red marker to make more squiggly lines for more a more blood-shot look. Glue one eye on each ball about 1 to 2” from top edge of balls and 1” from inner edges of balls.
Nose: A blue piece of construction cut in in two 1 x2” rectangles. Glue one on each ball 3” from tops as close to the inner edge as you can get.
Mouth: Cut a black onstr.paper circle 2” wide in half. Using the top half of the cicle, cut that piece in half. Glue each half on each of the balls touching the bottom inner edge of the nose. Cut a circle of red constr.paper 1 ½” wide. Cut in half across circle. Using the bottom half of the circle, cut that in half. Glue each half on the black mouth.
Horns: Cut two 3 “ long horns out of red const. paper. Glue on top of outer edge of each ball, so that each horn is curved inward. Glue head on the body (the box should be standing up.)

In the center of the box, glue a 5 ½” diameter circle made of white const. paper. Then make ½ of a heart of read const. paper that is 1 ½” at its widest part and 3 ½” long. Make a half of heart out of black const. paper the same size. Glue the heart together in the center of the white circle with the red half on the monster’s right and the black on the monster’s left.
ARMS & HANDS: Using 2 pieces of yellow construction paper make a cylinder that is 19” long and 2” in diameter. Repeat that step to make other arm. Trace the hands of a student on orange constr. paper and cut out. Glue each hand with fingers pointing up on
each of the yellow cylinders. On each side (long side) of box glue the arms 3”f rom the top edge and 2 ½” from the front edge.
LEGS: Using 4 pieces of green constr. paper roll each piece lengthwise in to cylinder 2” in diameter. Glue two cylinders end to end for one leg. Repeat step for other leg. At one end of each of the cylinders glue edge to a 6oz. clear plastic cup, open side down. Glue each leg to body ,( bottom edge of box), 1” from front edge, ½” from side edges and 4” apart.
