How to Build A Monster
First you would take a small box and wrap it in orange paper, and then tape a small bowl on the box for the face.
Next take a black marker and draw the eyes and mouth on the bowl.
Take two blue balloons and blow them up and tape them on the sides for the ears.
Get another box (slightly larger) and wrap it in blue paper for the body.
Use blue balloons again for the stomach and take your black marker to draw his/her belly button. Take two paper cups and wrap them in yellow paper for the arms and hot glue them to the sides of the box (body). Put a small slit in the bottom of the cup. Then take one white and one blue balloon, blow them up, and attach them to the cups through the slits in the bottom of the cups and hot glue the ends of the balloons to the inside of the cups. Next take a black marker and draw the monster’s hands on the balloons.
Get four more cups and wrap them in blue paper and tape them for the legs. Finally, take yellow paper and draw the feet with a orange marker and paint your toenails orange.
Now you have completed your monster! Enjoy!
Classroom B: Sally Thomson (Bynum ISD, Bynum, TX)
Our Monster's name is Franky Frank. Here's how to build him.
Body:
Roll red construction paper into a tube. Glue together.
Head:
Cut a rectangle out of a shoe box lid, about 6 X 8. Cut the edges off and save for later.
Cut 12 small circles from the rest of the box lid for eyes. Glue on the head.
Cut an orange triangle for the nose and glue it on.
Cut an arch out of a paper plate edge and color it green. Draw brown and red "hairs" all over it. Glue it under the nose.
Cut a mouth out of blue construction paper. Draw teeth. Glue it under mustache.
Cut a red oval and glue it under the mouth, on the chin, for a cut.
Draw red cuts all over the head.
Cut different colored yarn and glue on top of head for hair.
Glue head onto body.
Arms and Legs:
Use the edges of box lid saved from the head to make arms and legs. Glue arms and legs onto body.
Clothes:
Cut squares out of shoe box for shoes. Color them blue and glue on the bottoms of the legs. Make X's for laces out of blue construction paper and glue on top of shoes.
Cut a shirt out of any color construction paper and glue on body.
Cut blue pants out of construction paper and glue onto legs.
Cut a hat out of any color construction paper. Draw a crown and a flag on it. Glue on top of the head.
Cut some faces out of the newspaper and glue on arms. Cover the arms with faces.
Now you have your own "Franky Frank".
